BHF’s Renee Claborn Receives March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Award

M. Renee Claborn, Director of School Based Health Center Programming at Building Healthy Futures, was recognized this month by the March of  Dimes as one of the top 25 nurses for 2017 from across Nebraska and Western Iowa. The March of Dimes makes this selection annually, seeking  to acknowledge and celebrate nursing excellence and achievements in research, education, quality patient care, innovation, and leadership of  these outstanding medical professionals.

New Website Launched to Support Refugees

Omaharefugees.com is a new website to support health care workers and others who strive to communicate and understand those in the refugee community. "There is an abundance of resources for refugees, but finding those resources can be a challenge. Creating this website allows us to gather what is already out there, see where the gaps are, and partner with other agencies to support one another's missions," says Kandy Do, a former BHF intern instrumental in helping the website's launch.
